Jungfraujoch – A Highlight in International Tourism
Jungfraujoch, known as the "Top of Europe," attracts around one million visitors annually and is the highest railway station in Europe. With the introduction of the new cable cars, the V-Bahn, the Jungfrau region is further solidifying its status as a year-round tourism destination. The Eiger Express takes guests to the Eigergletscher mountain station in just 15 minutes, where they can transfer to the historic Jungfrau railway. The modern Grindelwald Terminal not only provides access to these transport options but also offers a variety of dining choices and extensive services.
The Jungfraubahnen place great importance on quality and innovation. This is evident not only in the impressive architecture but also in the high-quality furnishings that prioritize visitor comfort. The lighting concept by Zumtobel meets numerous requirements and creates a pleasant atmosphere.
The project encompassed three main areas, including the facade, which must withstand various environmental influences. To meet these demands, a post-and-beam system is employed, which also connects the parking garage to the valley station via a walkway. An overhead light referred to as the "glacier crevice" ensures ample brightness inside the building. In total, 3,300 m² of facade, 40 m² of windows, 240 m² of roof lights, and 560 m² of walkway are planned for coating, all to be treated with our IGP color shade IGP-HWFclassic 59, 591TE90070A10. The total powder requirement amounts to 640 kg.
