Enso Drewag Dresden

The new building was designed by the architectural firm gmp Architekten von Gerkan, Marg und Partner and constructed by the builder SachsenEnergie AG. In the design of the thirteen- and eight-story tower buildings, particular emphasis was placed on sustainable and resource-efficient solutions. The completed building complex serves as a focal point in the southern part of the city center, providing a visible impetus in line with the city of Dresden’s new high-rise model.

The connection to the existing building is via a bridge, which directly links both building sections and allows them to be used together. In close collaboration with the client and the Dresden City Planning Office, a building design was developed that creates optimal conditions for a modern and attractive work environment.

Prefabricated, floor-to-ceiling glass elements were used for the façade design, enabling efficient construction of the building envelope. The extensive glazing ensures a brighter, more transparent, and modern appearance. The profiles and metal sheets were coated by the contract coater Lippert with 5,000 kg of IGP-DURA®xal 4201 powder coating. This deep-matte, highly weather-resistant product from IGP Powder Coatings gives the facade an elegant, durable, and color-stable surface.

This project demonstrates that, with precise planning and efficient construction management, a high-quality building can be completed within 22 months.
