«3 Months IGP – Crazy Ideas and Unlimited Possibilities.»
Portrait of Silvan Sollberger
Silvan Sollberger started working as a laboratory technican at IGP in mid-August. One of its main tasks is the development and creation of optimized laboratory formulations. He described himself in three words as "humorous, curious and ambitious (sometimes almost a little stubborn)." We took advantage of the end of his probationary period to meet Silvan and ask him a few questions about his time at the IGP so far.
How did you find out about IGP?
I really liked the onboarding program because it is individually tailored to each employee. Many things can be planned and prioritized independently. Everyone takes time for you, and you get information about a wide variety of departments. I was impressed by the fact that even members of the management sit down with you and emphasize their different areas of responsibility and important points, such as the company's vision and purpose. It's not obvious that you get such information in a company with 600 employees. I really enjoyed that.
What have you enjoyed the most so far?
There hasn't been a specific time I want to pick here. But I think it's cool that, even though I haven't been in the company for long, I'm already involved in cross-functional projects, I can bring my knowledge and learn a lot from others. From the beginning, I noticed that there was a lot of confidence placed in me and my abilities. This encourages me to get involved on an ongoing basis and to tackle even difficult tasks.
Why do you like to come to work?
My work is incredibly diverse. I can continuously develop my existing know-how and learn something new with each task. There are countless different areas and characteristics in my area of responsibility that can be influenced and newly developed. Even many years from now, we won't be able to say we know everything now. The possibilities are almost endless! In this way, my curiosity is fully satisfied and it motivates me to come to work every day. And if the environment is good, that's a big extra plus.
Is there anything you'd like to add at the end?
I really enjoy the open working environment at IGP. You can also place crazy ideas, discuss them, and make suggestions for improvement. A top-down and bottom-up culture is practiced, which greatly increases motivation and team spirit.
Thank you very much for your commitment Silvan! We look forward to tackling many more exciting projects with you!
