«Finding solutions. Developing systems. Getting a little better every day.»
Portrait of Raphael Kranzkowski
Raphael Kranzkowski is an IT System Administrator at IGP and feels in exactly the right place in the fast-paced IT world. He became aware of the company when he reoriented himself professionally and was looking for a job that better suited his expectations. The IGP advertisement immediately caught his eye – the combination of field of activity, family atmosphere and proximity to his home was right for him right away. The decision was quickly clear.
Raphael particularly appreciates the variety and constant development of his job. There is rarely a standstill in IT – as soon as a project is completed, the next topics are already on the agenda. It is precisely this dynamic that he likes. Improving systems, expanding infrastructure and implementing new solutions are part of his everyday life and ensure that things never become monotonous.
Even on demanding days, Raphael doesn't need any additional drive. For him, motivation comes from the work itself: solving problems, driving projects forward and leaving things working. If something doesn't work, he wants to fix it as efficiently and cleanly as possible. His typical working day varies. This includes project work, system and server controls, the expansion of the infrastructure and the continuous optimization of processes. In incident management, he also coordinates the ticket system and ensures that concerns are processed in a structured manner.
What Raphael particularly appreciates about IGP's corporate culture is the open approach and the lived error culture. Mistakes are not hidden but seen as an opportunity to learn from them and develop further. The fact that values are not only communicated but really lived in everyday life is also an important point for him.
Since his start, Raphael has developed a lot professionally. After his induction phase in first-level support, he was able to switch to system engineering and take on more responsibility, including around operating systems. Later, he was allowed to expand the service desk to the entire Dold Group and introduce software distribution. He has also tested, evaluated and successfully implemented various products. Projects that he was able to accompany himself from evaluation to implementation – such as the introduction of software distribution or the migration of the local mail environment to the cloud – were particularly formative for him.
In his private life, Raphael describes himself as a loyal and positive person who tries to see the good in situations and treats his environment with respect. In his free time, he likes to be active: climbing, snowboarding and sports in general are part of it for him. Music also plays an important role – he plays drums and likes to deal with it creatively. In addition, he is active in handicrafts, likes to lend a hand in the household and, when time permits, also reaches for the camera.
For the future at the IGP, Raphael hopes that things will continue as before. He wants to develop further, tackle new topics and remains excited about the challenges that are still to come.
