"Discipline, curiosity and the desire to constantly
develop myself are what drive me."
Portrait of Albrecht Ebert
Albrecht has been part of IGP for just over four years and has undergone an exciting development within the company during this time. He started out in the laboratory and now works as a technical consultant, supporting customers with his expertise, commitment and enthusiasm.
His start at IGP was spontaneous and at the same time characterised by foresight. Even while studying chemical engineering in Esslingen, Albi had the desire to work in Switzerland at some point. This idea took a decisive turn one evening with his flatmates, when they were sitting together in the kitchen after a long day and talking about their future.
At that moment, one of his flatmates asked him the defining question: ‘What do you actually want to do with your life?’ For Albi, the answer was clear: he wanted to work in Switzerland at some point.
As his bachelor's thesis was coming up soon, his flatmate suggested that he take advantage of this opportunity and apply to do his bachelor's thesis in Switzerland. That same night, they wrote down this plan on a whiteboard. The next morning, Albi put this idea into action and applied.
Through close cooperation between Esslingen University of Applied Sciences and IGP, he came into contact with the head of technology. After just one week, he received a job offer. Shortly afterwards, he began his bachelor's thesis at IGP, in which he carried out the preliminary work for the development of the IGP-HWFclassic59 Reflect – the starting point for his further career at the company.
After successfully completing his studies, Albrecht was hired and began his career in the raw materials team. He worked there for three years and acquired in-depth technical expertise in powder coatings. He particularly appreciated the teamwork, the professional exchange and the open atmosphere in the laboratory area.
With a desire for personal development and more customer contact, Albrecht ultimately decided to switch to the role of technical consultant. In his current role, he combines technical expertise with direct customer contact. He advises customers on selecting suitable products, provides support with setting up applications and coating systems, and helps find solutions when challenges arise. It is precisely this combination that makes his work particularly varied and fulfilling for him.
Albrecht describes himself as disciplined and determined. Fixed routines, getting up early, regular exercise and a conscious lifestyle are a matter of course for him. He is particularly good at immersing himself in topics over the long term and working consistently towards his goals.
In addition to sport, travelling also plays a major role in his life. Albrecht tries to use every day of holiday he has available for a trip – be it a long weekend in a European city or a trip to Asia lasting several weeks. Last year, he travelled to a total of ten countries, including Poland, Hungary, Italy, Portugal, Morocco and Cyprus.
On his travels, Albrecht particularly enjoys photographing nature, as he believes it produces the most beautiful colours. One of his favourite pictures was taken in Madeira, where he was particularly impressed by the deep blue of the sea, which has remained in his memory to this day.
At IGP, Albrecht particularly appreciates the humanity, the open corporate culture and the opportunity for professional and personal development. For him, good cooperation means supporting each other, sharing strengths and meeting on equal terms – regardless of position or function.
