«3 Months at IGP - Started with Curiosity, Stayed with Enthusiasm.»
Portrait of Thomas Lang
Thomas Lang started his career as a process technician at IGP around three months ago. We spoke to him about his experiences and impressions so far to find out how he has been getting on with us.
How are you doing at the moment?
I'm doing very well – I really can't complain. I was particularly impressed by my team: everyone is friendly, helpful and motivated. This atmosphere makes daily cooperation not only pleasant, but also humorous.
How would you describe your first three months?
Varied, challenging and fun – these three terms get to the heart of it for me. From day one, I felt welcome and was allowed to work directly. Thanks to a clearly structured induction plan, I was able to quickly get to know many different areas and find my way around the company well.
How do you feel about the working atmosphere in the company?
I perceive the working atmosphere at IGP as very open, supportive and progressive. The colleagues are all helpful, you meet at eye level. This creates a working environment in which people feel comfortable and enjoy coming to work.
What do you particularly like about working as a process engineer?
Clearly: the variety. No two days are the same, and that's what makes the work so exciting for me. I like it when I face new challenges every day – it never gets boring, and I can constantly develop myself.
Why did you decide to work at IGP?
The job profile in the job description was a perfect fit for my professional interests and my degree. I was particularly excited about the opportunity to work internationally and in other countries. At the trial day, my positive impression was confirmed once again – the working environment and culture were simply right.
What can you tell us about yourself personally?
I currently live in Constance and would describe myself as an open, fun-loving and communicative person. I like to talk and get along well with different people. Openness is very important to me in my professional and private life.
What do you do in your free time?
In my free time, I like to be active and do a lot, as long as it doesn't get boring. In the summer, I like to barbecue, meet up with friends and family, ride my bike or spend time in the garden. In recent years, my girlfriend, our colleagues and I have also developed a passion for board games – we are constantly trying new ones.
What has been your highlight at IGP so far?
A highlight for me was that I was able to work independently on OKR topics early on. I was particularly pleased that I was able to help other employees with my work and contribute my knowledge after a short time.
What do you wish for your upcoming future at IGP?
I want to continue to make a valuable contribution. I also want to exploit my own potential, develop my skills and constantly keep the quality of my work high. My goal is to grow in the long term – both professionally and personally.
We wish Thomas continued success on his way at IGP and look forward to further cooperation.
