Review of the product launch IGP-HWFclassic 59 Reflect.
In July of this year, we launched our IGP-HWFclassic 59 Reflect product range. An innovative powder coating that combines the proven properties of IGP-HWFclassic 59 (superdurable and robust) with the advantages of IR-reflecting surfaces.
This combination makes the solution particularly suitable for dark façade surfaces exposed to intense sunlight and brings the following advantages:
Extended service life of building structures: Due to the reduced surface temperature, the façade is subjected to less mechanical stress, so that the building fabric is protected in the long term.
Optimized energy balance: Lower façade heat reduces heat transmission into the building and thus reduces the need for cooling. This not only saves energy, but also costs.
Reduced Urban Heat Island Effect: Cooler façades help reduce the heat island effect and improve the microclimate in urban spaces.
In order to be able to evaluate the optimization potential of the REFLECT technology, the TSR value (Total Solar Reflectance) is a central parameter. It indicates what percentage of solar radiation, including UV and IR radiation, is reflected by a surface. The higher the TSR value, the greater the reflectivity and the lower the heat absorption through the surface.
With IGP-ANALYZEit Reflect, we are supplementing our solution with a user-friendly tool that makes the reflectivity of coated surfaces transparent and thus shows optimization potential.
