IGP-HWFsmart 59 – innovative solutions for challenging times

The construction industry needs solutions that cut energy use and reduce carbon footprints. Following the successful launch of IGP-DURA®one, IGP Powder Coatings will introduce IGP-HWFsmart 59 in fall 2026 – another low-temperature system designed to lower energy consumption and operating costs while maintaining excellent surface quality. Variants are also in development to support building certifications such as DGNB, BREEAM, LEED, and SNBS, and to provide fresh momentum for a more sustainable powder coating industry.

The construction and coating industries are facing growing challenges. Cost pressure and geopolitical uncertainty are putting increasing strain on companies. At the same time, regulatory requirements are becoming stricter, and demand for sustainable construction is rising.

As a result, there is a growing need for solutions that combine environmental responsibility with economic efficiency. In this context, low-temperature systems are emerging as a key technology in industrial coating processes.

IGP-HWFsmart 59: the next step in the low-temperature strategy

For years, IGP Powder Coatings has made low-temperature technology and the development of more sustainable coating solutions central to its innovation strategy. With the launch of IGP-DURA®one, IGP became the world’s first manufacturer to switch its entire range of weathering-resistant standard powder coatings to low-temperature technology.

In Q3 2026, IGP-HWFsmart 59 will mark the next stage in this development – a super durable low-temperature series engineered specifically for façade applications. The IGP-HWFsmart 59 series is a super durable low-temperature system that achieves reactive crosslinking at temperatures as low as 160°C. Its low curing temperatures reduce energy consumption and operating costs, while shorter curing times increase line throughput.

IGP-HWFsmart 59 also meets the exacting requirements for color and gloss retention on façade surfaces, helping to preserve the long-term value of coated buildings. Its wide curing window supports stable processing and consistently high surface quality, even when material thicknesses or process parameters vary. The system therefore combines process efficiency, high coating quality, and lasting façade performance.

Innovation is in IGP’s DNA

With its low-temperature strategy and development of more sustainable powder coating variants, IGP Powder Coatings demonstrates how it translates technological progress into environmentally responsible solutions. Highly reactive systems make coating processes lower-emission, more efficient, and more cost-effective.

IGP is also developing sustainable product and certification concepts that help meet the requirements for environmentally responsible construction and coating processes even more effectively. This includes solutions geared toward building certifications and circular material concepts.

With IGP-HWFsmart 59, IGP Powder Coatings is adding another solution for demanding façade applications to its product range. The system is designed for applications where high weather resistance, consistent surface quality, and efficient production processes are equally important.
